Carroll Hall Shelby is one of America's most famous racing drivers from the 1950s. Shelby began working on his dream of designing and manufacturing an all-American track and street car after retiring from professional driving. Shelby was an automotive designer, racer and entrepreneur. He is best known for the AC Cobra, and then the Mustang-based Ford Motor Company performance cars known as Shelby Mustangs, which he has done since 1965.
